Road Trip {ADSR Detour}

I'm sharing another digital page today, breaking all the rules I thought I was going to set up for myself. Gah! Tomorrow I swear to share the paper page that has been sitting on my desk for over a week.

Yesterday I managed to get a little sewing done, and I got the table behind my scrap area cleaned up. I wound up staying up extra late to do it, but I did it! I really do long for the day when I can leave stuff sitting out and know the kids aren't going to attack it, but for now I'll keep putting things away.

So the layout today is a digital page for detour challenge #5 with the ADSR. The challenge is to use a screen shot in our page. So I used a map and a screen shot of some of the pictures from my recent road trip with the kids and my parents (can you say high stress?!).

The ADSR7 is officially over now, and I'm happy that we got all the challenges completed. And on time to boot! woohoo!

ADSR 7.7

Yesterday I lacked motivation to do nearly anything. Well, that is actually a lie. I wanted to sew. I would have loved to put on my ear buds and sew to my hearts content. Apparently my kids had other thoughts. So after attempting a project or two, I finally caved and took them outside. And you know what, after about 45 minutes they were both miserable and wanted to come back in. If I knew that, I would have done it early and then had the rest of the day to myself. Oh well. The only good thing is that I managed to get some yard work done, which I'm sure my neighbors appreciate. My yard no longer looks like a jungle!

Don't most 4 year old boys love bugs? Mine wouldn't pick up the rake yesterday because there was an ant on it. Really?! He got upset with me because I refused to come remove the ant from said rake. Turns out he wanted to use it on his sister like a sword. Good call on that one Mom! 

And I have yet to actually look at that paper page I did last week and try to add some finishing touches, so I'd like to accomplish that as well. But for now, I've got another digital page to share. This one was done for Challenge 7 of the ADSR. This challenge was difficult for me, I had no idea how I was going to complete it. I read someone post about doing the colors of their family and I was like - hey, that's great! So I totally swiped the idea and ran with it. Thanks!

Something I did different with this layout is most of it is actually created using negative space. That took longer than I expected, but I do like how it turned out. The only thing that isn't mine is the leaves and those are from Mira Designs (which I believe is no longer available).

And now I'm going to leave my blog and the intertubes and try to get some projects done that don't involve sun and weeds.

Digital {freebie} and nonsense

I know I said I was going to switch up between paper, digitals and other stuff, but I guess I can't be held to my word. LOL! I actually have a paper project sitting on my table that I think I'm finished with, but I am not sure I really like it. It needs a little extra something and until I figure out what, it will just sit there. But given that the next few days are busy, I'm sure I'll just give up and post it as it is now.

And speaking of the next few days, Jeff got lucky enough to score suite tickets to the nationwide race this weekend. With it comes a garage tour. I am super psyched about that part! I have to decide whether I should take my camera (which I really want to do, but don't want to lug it around). Don't get me wrong, I've seen the cars close up before... but I can't wait to actually see one in a garage.  Vroom Vroom Baby!! 

So today I'm sharing a digital page. This one was done for the ADSR7, challenge 6. The challenge was to use at least 2 pictures in shapes. This page came together fairly easily and I had a bunch of pictures to use for it because, of course, my kids cannot cooperate with the camera at the same time. LOL!

Most of the stuff on this page is from Audrey Neal's Chemistry kit. She is an awesome designer if you haven't seen her stuff. I did incorporate a few other things like masks and an overlay that I have from who knows where (note to designers - please put your name in the file).


And since I'm not keeping to my promise, I'm giving a peace offering. A digital freebie. :) It's actually a template set for you to use with whatever pieces you might have in your collection. Easy to do yourself, but I know sometimes I love having templates cause they make the process oh so much quicker.

And now I should give Grayson a moment. Poor boy. I say that wholeheartedly (and not at all with sarcasm, which is unusual). I am now glad that I went ahead and got his vaccinations this year. His legs turned beat red, swelled and knotted up. But you know what, the only time he has complained is when I poked at it and asked if it hurt (I can't be sweet all the time). This is the first time he's ever had a reaction to the shots. Braelyn does it every time, but not him. I feel bad for him, but unfortunately there isn't much I can do. I just hope they go away soon. But he has been really good since we went. :)

ADSR 7.5

Yesterday I didn't get a chance to get a blog post up. I wound up taking Grayson to the doctor for his 4 year old check up. And went ahead and got him his immunizations so I wouldn't have to worry about it next year when he goes into Kindergarten. The doctor was proud to report he is a happy, healthy boy who is bright and stubborn. Yeah, thanks. Like we need another stubborn around here. My house is full of stubborn. Sigh.

The page I'm sharing today is a collab between myself and Pinky. She was kind enough to step up and be my partner in the ADSR7. For challenge #5 we were to each create a 6x12 layout which was a scraplift of the other. We also had some prompts to use for journaling, so this is what we came up with... 

The left side is Pinky's and the right side is mine. We used the Summer Lovin' kit available from The Lilly Pad. Cute kit kit with lots of bright colors and fun embellishments!

Girly Shoes ADSR 7.3

This is my digital page for the ADSR, challenge 3 (create your own digital stamp). The next challenge comes out tomorrow and I can't wait. I'm having a lot of fun participating, but the race is very fast paced with 2 challenges coming out each week. The good thing is that you have lots of time to complete the challenge.

This is a complete fluff page about a new pair of sneakers I got at the end of March. The designs are mine and the page is really simple. But I love the colors in this kit and try to use it whenever possible. Even having a girl, I'm not always privy to being surrounded by lots of girl stuff. So I sneak it in when I can. :)

ADSR 7.2

Another page for the ADSR 7. This one is for challenge #2.

Pretty sure everybody knows I have issues with kidney stones. You know, I seem to form massively large (well, I think they are) stones in a matter of 2-3 months. Hello marbles. I swear, I really need to find something money producing to do with those bad boys, but that thought is rather disgusting.

So when the challenge was to scrap about something (person or life changing event), I immediately thought of myself. How could I not?! I could scrap about a million happy things, but I do think it is important that my kids learn how to deal with disappointment. And see that we can trudge through the crap to get to the other side and still manage to come out smiling. But you know what, sometimes I have to remember that too. So here is my page, in its full bout of depression... next time I swear I'll find something happy to scrap about. :)

Life's a Blur

I have teamed up with Pinky and we are doing the Amazing Digital Scrapbook Race. Kudos to her for stepping up at the last hour to partner with me as I begged on facebook. LOL! If you haven't, check out her blog as she is really talented and I'm sure you'll find lots of great eye candy there.

Back to the ADSR7 - We are issued challenges and have a timeline to create a page. They aren't judged on whose is the best (love that!), just that you met the criteria of the challenge.

The first challenge came out on the 6th. It was to use a bad photo and scrap it unaltered. Not a problem, I have tons of those! This pic fits perfectly with the challenge and I am pretty pleased with how the layout turned out.

I did 8.5x11 again just for fun, which I'm again sure I'll regret when printing time comes. The kit is from Crisdam Designs at A Cherry On Top.

Now I'm all done and ready for the next challenge! Woot - bring it on!
