Me @ 34

First I want to share a conversation I had with Grayson the other day in the car. I thought it was pretty funny.

"mommy, I want to see the map"
"it's a gps"
"what does gps mean?"
"global positioning satellite" - you don't have to correct me, I realize now this is wrong ;)
"whats satellite mean?"
"it's a big space shuttle kind of thing that lives in the sky, way up in outer space and talks to the box in the car that tells us what roads are coming up and which way to go"
"austronauts live in outer space"
"well, they visit there"
"space shuttles live in outer space"
"planets live in outer space, even the earth is in outer space"

At this point I'm just kinda floored, I'm pretty sure at 4 I didn't comprehend the earth was actually part of the solar system. I probably didn't even think about it, I just wanted to go to my sandbox.

"yup, all those things are in outer space"

<insert pause here>

"but mommy, where is the library?"

We weren't even headed to the library.

:)

As far as scrapping today, I've got another digital layout. This one was done for a challenge over at A Cherry On Top. The All About Me challenge. The picture didn't turn out half bad, so I might as well use it while I like it. LOL!

I also adapted the April sketch from My Sketch World, which of course is really cute.

The papers and elements are from all different designers. I just can't help myself when it comes to mixing up digital kits and changing colors on stuff. Its an obsession. :)

Pumpkin Pickin'

Happy Tuesday - hope everyone is having a great day! The weather here looks nice, but I think it is on the chilly side (more incentive to stay inside and get crafty, right?!).

For this layout I used a sketch from My Sketch World along with papers and elements I created. I absolutely love digital pages, they go together quickly and the kids can't steal my supplies!

Grayson loved the pumpkin patch last year, but honestly he had more fun with the wagon!

Yesterday I started working on the smash* book with memorabilia from our wedding. I decided to use the notebook that I used for planning the wedding to begin with, so it isn't an official smash* book, but it has a bit more meaning for me. I'm surprised at how quickly it is coming together. Matter of fact, I'm almost done with it (it helps that everything was in one place to begin with). I want to add some pictures to some of the pages, but for the most part I would consider it done. Which means that I'll get to toss all the 'extras' which have been sitting around in a box. How is that for decluttering?!

1st Beach Trip

This was a challenge I did back in January at CTS. Being that this was the first layout I had done in months, I love how it turned out!

Grayson's first trip to the beach was in April 2011. He loved access to the HUGE sandbox. He still talks about it, and lately has been asking to go back. I just love this picture of him, his expression seems so somber which is rarely the case for him.

I've decided to join in a smash* book challenge over at Tally Scrapper. I have loads of empty journals around so I thought it might be a good way to use them up. I actually think I'm going to start with the junk errr... sentimentals from our wedding. They have been sitting in a box for the past few years, so I figured I might as well do something with them! It is part of my quest to declutter!

And, in case you haven't read, My Sketch World is having a DT call right now. There are great sketches there, and the forum seems like a great place to hang out! Check it out and good luck if you apply!

Tuesday Layouts

This morning I seem to have an excessive amount of energy. I hope that means I will get lots of things accomplished today, but it is more likely that I'll be crashed by 10am. However, I do have two layouts to share. I actually managed to finish a paper layout yesterday, and (even better) I really like how it turned out!

This was Braelyn's first time on the swings at the park last summer. I kept trying to get her to smile so I could catch her teeth in the picture, but of course it was a no go. For this one I used an art inspiration challenge at Citrus Tree Studio and the 2/4 sketch from My Sketch World. I even used all scraps on this page too, except for the background.

Here is a digital page of poor Braelyn while she was sick last summer. She looks so pitiful, I couldn't help but snap a picture of her. This one uses the 2/15 sketch from My Sketch World.

In case you didn't know, Citrus Tree Studio is running a sale on kits right now. Some great kits are available at great prices! You should definitely check it out. :)

Scrap Box Cards

When I do get a chance to scrap, I've been focusing on trying to widdle down my scrap paper. Since cards are great for that, I wind up making a lot of them (plus they are quick projects which is an added bonus). Here are a few cards I've done in the past couple weeks, all with supplies from my scraps box.

For this one, I used the 2/12 Card Sketch from My Sketch World, which I flipped.

A Valentine's card using scraps...

This one is using the 2/7 Card sketch from My Sketch World. Another thank you card made from scraps.

My apologies for the bad quality of the pictures. I didn't look at them prior to actually mailing out the cards, so I can't retake them. :( I really should keep that in mind for the future!

On another note, we got a dusting of snow yesterday. So I took the kids out first thing this morning to play, of course with a camera! I'm hoping that means they will be tired this afternoon and maybe I'll get a chance to scrap!

some digitals

While most in the house are sick, I haven't really been able to play with paper much. I have managed to put together a few digital layouts. That is better than nothing, right?!

This weekend I decided to work with the sketches at My Sketch World for their 6th birthday celebration. So here are a few digitals I did this weekend.

Tomorrow I think I'll have some cards to share. :) I'm so excited to be scrapping again!

My Sketch World & CTS *Brush*

Citrus Tree Studio is sponsoring My Sketch World this month. The sketch is super cute, and the prize rocks too! The pages are due soon (the 31st) so be sure to check it out and get scrappin' for a chance to win!

I flopped the pictures on the sketch because I really couldn't find two landscape pictures I wanted to work with. For this one I used an older kit (October maybe??) from CTS. Everything on the page is from the kit with the exception of the big chipboard bracket (Rusty Pickle) and the alphabet stickers along the bottom (Making Memories & the green ones are from my never ending stash).

ETA: I'm such a goober though, I didn't read all of the instructions (that's what I get for not paying extra attention, my classroom kids would be so ashamed - LOL). My page isn't shabby, but I still love it!!
