Happy Memorial Day

Please remember today to say thank you to our veteran and active duty servicemen and women. Without these soldiers, we wouldn't have the lives we do. They have chosen to pay the price for our freedom, and in many cases they still pay. As do their families. These men and women deserve so much more than we can do for them, and most don't ask for anything so receiving a simple thank you means so much to them.

So please, take a moment to say thank you!

This card is made with Momenta products. It's super easy and only takes like 5-10 minutes to put together!

Celebrate Card *momenta*

First, I would like to thank everyone for the get well wishes from my last post. I think I've just resigned to taking the meds. I took some today and they have helped considerably this evening. I need to at least take them this weekend so I can enjoy spending time with my cousin & his family while they are here.

That said, we are meeting my cousin, his family & my parents at the science center tomorrow. I hope grayson enjoys it, but I'm afraid it might be a little 'above' his age range. However, we'll make the best out of it and he will have other little boys to play with, so all will be good. And, I'm sure I will get some great pictures!

On to the project... I made this quick card with momenta products. I've thoroughly enjoyed working with them - and I can't wait to share a few more projects with you, but... one at a time for now.

This card is super quick and probably only takes 15 minutes to assemble, if that. So grab some supplies and have fun!

Supplies Used:
Stickles

Dirty Scraps Challenge 10

Challenge 10 at Dirty Scraps is all about Serenity. I usually have an article of clothing that I stick with. Currently (although its in rough shape) it's my tie dyed sweatshirt. This is an older page, as I've not been feeling that great lately - but I hope you enjoy!

Do check out the challenge and participate, there's a great prize!

My First Momenta Project

So my dad has given me a ton of pictures of dogs we've had over the years and asked me to make him an album for Christmas. So... I have lots of pupppy pictures to work with, expect to see furry pages in the future!

Momenta has this cute Dog Page Kit available, so I figured it would be perfect to start the album with. Here is my first official Momenta page. And how much easier can it be than to get everything in one package?

First Professional Haircut!

So this makes me realize that the boy is growing up. He did so well though, he didn't fight (unfortunately he does fight me and that's why I quit cutting it). But I'm glad that he isn't shaggy anymore!

I decided to double up on my challenges. I did Tricia's primary color challenge at Citrus Tree Studio and Ginger's 5th Month challenge at Treasured Scrapbooking. I pulled out the eyelets for my 5 of something - cause you know, I've got LOTS of those sitting around! And Of course this page has been 450'd! I used the Helmar 450 & Zapdots on the embelly cluster. I also used my Sakura pens to do the doodling on the pictures and my doodle flourishes (along with help from a Crafter's Workshop template). The background paper is some really old Bo Bunny & the cardstock is all Bazzill!

Now, I'm off to dive into a HUGE box of momenta supplies that arrived yesterday! Hopefully I'll have something to share tomorrow!

Scrap That Baby - Fun & Games

The prompt at Scrap That Baby this round is fun & games! Well, Grayson absolutely loves the slide. It doesn't matter if it is in our yard, at the park or in our living room (I brought the little one in during some of the wind & snow storms this past winter) - the slide is his absolute favorite! I'm sad because his legs are almost too long for this slide now, but we have another one in the yard to take its place. :)

So I have to enter a page of him playing on his slide. This is an older digital page that was featured in Ready-Set-Create. I ran a vintage action on the photos to tone the colors down a bit.

Mother's Day

Since my recliner broke, I was forced to move back to my craft table (probably a good thing since all I've been doing the past 2 days is watching sappy tv and crying). Of course, I can't sit there and NOT do something, so I pulled out my challenge cards and decided to go with Eva's challenge at Treasured Scrapbooking.

It was to use scallops, flowers & birds together on a project. So here's my page, a picture of grayson & I from Mother's Day this past weekend. Not the best picture, but the best one we could get with a 2 year old that didn't want to be still!

I used a soft vintage action to tone down the orange of grayson's shirt. Went with a peach-ish background (I believe DCWV), Bazzill Cardstock, AC Thickers and used the date spot to cut the shape for another flower and twisted ribbon in the center. The other flower was created by simply punching a circle and layering a doodlebug sticker in the center. I used the helmar 450 on the flowers & the gemstone glue to adhere the crystals to the scallops. Added some ribbon for the flower stems, a KaiserCraft pearl for the birds eye and this is what I got...

Dirty Truth (Dirty Scraps Challenge)

The challenge at Dirty Scraps this time around is "The Facts of Life". Well, I've got lots of facts about me, so I thought I would share just a few (yes, there are more, LOL).

Supplies:
Scenic Route Papers
RP Alpha Stickers
Pink Paislee Journaling Spot
DCWV Cardstock
Making Memories Metal & Brad
Two Chicks Designs Chick'n Noodles & Chick'n Feed
Embroidery Floss
Flourish - unknown

Journaling:
I am not perfect. I am overweight, I can be grumpy. I cuss, I get angry. I will tell you when I think there are better ways to do things. Despite my faults, I am true to myself & those whom I love.

Here is a close-up of the Donna Salazar style flower. I wound ribbon up and then put a ribbon flower & brad in the very center.

Ready Set Create *April/May*

If you don't subscribe to RSC, be sure to check out the April/May Issue which is available for a steal at only $4! It's almost 250 pages of inspiration - and you just can't beat that!

So I want to share some of the projects I did with supplies from our awesome sponsors! We had some great sponsors for the April/May issue, including 3Bugs, London Tierney Buttons, Hermosa84, Michelle Underwood, Picel Perfect Designs, After 5 Designs... I could keep going, but it's really worth checking out the issue!

So I've created a couple slide shows to share. One with digitals and one with traditionals - so enjoy!!

Oops! I've been MIA!

All I can say is that I'm terribly sorry for the sporadic updates in the past couple weeks. I've been so tired and not doing much actual scrapping. I have vowed to get back to my normal scrappy schedule - so beginning tomorrow, I'll be back to doing updates regularly and scrapping to my heart's content! So... point me in the direction of some fun challenges and help me get started!!
