What I Treasure The Most (chal #5)

Blog about what you treasure the most...

Well, my treasure would have to be my family. I have a great family, even my inlaws. I have the best husband in the world, despite his lack of desire to do chores. My holding out truly paid off because he is wonderful! My mom & dad have always been there for me and they still are, to this day. I was amazed at how much they helped when we were buying the new house. I can't think of a time when my parents weren't there to bail me out. My MIL is a wonderful person, she has a heart of gold. My BIL & SIL are great people. They have always been there to lend a helping hand.

I treasure my niece & nephew and hate that I don't get to spend as much time with them as I did before. They are such loving children and I am happy to know that I have had an impact on their lives.

Of course, my family includes my puppies. I couldn't have a family without dogs, especially now since there are no kids. So my pups get the pampering and loving that I would give to my children.

There are other things I treasure, like scrapping, having the ability to scrap on a design team for TS and DD, having a new home, a nice car. But the things I treasure the most are things that money cannot buy.

Blog an Important Moment

The moment I want to blog about is the point where I knew I loved my husband. You know, some people talk about knowing immediately, others just say they felt a bit uneasy in their stomach. I didn't know immediately (Lord knows I could have saved about 10 years there). I did however realize it the day of his Aunt's funeral. I stopped by to see him at the shop. I walked in and there he was. He had this gleam in his eye, red button up shirt and a black suit. I can see him like it was yesterday. I remember thinking as I was walking out, I am in love with this man - wanting to scream it to the world! I kept it to myself however, since there were other things to consider at the time. Luckily, we got married about a year later ... and here we are ... just as happy as ever!

What Would Make Me Happy

What at this moment would make me happy?
To have a complete and total makeover. I would like someone to doll me up! It's been a long time since I really dressed up and bothered to care what I look like, more than in a nice pair of jeans and an unwrinkled shirt. Matter of fact, at this moment I sit here in sweat pants, a wrinkled t-shirt and a zip up sweatshirt that sort of matches the pants. Man, I feel old & frumpy. So I would like, more than anything, to have somebody style my hair, do my nails and fix my make-up. I bet that would even make Jeff jump up for joy!

My Fav LO

Here's my current favorite lo. It's not the best I've done, but the lo itself has a lot of emotion tied in. Having Crohn's Disease is something that I deal with everyday, and the day I was diagnosed is still vivid in my mind. Although I have long forgotten the date, the memory lingers daily.
Journaling: When I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease my life was turned upside down. I went through every emotion possible. I remember the crisp smell of the doctor's office as he told me what my future would hold. Through tear blurred vision, I somehow made it back to my office to spend the rest of the day in tears, hoping what I heard was not true.

Catching up on my blog challenges (#1)

Since I was gone when they started... I figured I would do all of them up until now. They are the blogging challenges from Treasured Scrapbooking ... feel free to go check them out and join in the fun!!

Challenge #1 - My sayings

Well, i'm notorious for saying "Whatever!!" I've done it since I was a kid. Jeff always calls me on it too. But that won't make it stop! "Bite Me" is another good one... it's usually directed toward my father though ;). So much so that he went out and got a coffee cup that said it and held it up one day when he knew I was getting ready to open my mouth.

*** Addict ***

and I'm an addict.
As easy as that sounds to say, it's really hard. I'm addicted to a ton of things (biting my nails, chapstick, scrapbooking), but one in particular sticks out. Sadly enough, I'm addicted to mountain dew, it's my crack. For almost 14 years, I've had a mountain dew by my side and if I didn't, I would go out and get one.
It all started when I turned 16. I would stop at the store where my boyfriend was working and get a mountain dew and a snickers bar after school. Then I would go to work and drink more mountain dew from the fountain drink machine.
There was a point in my early 20's when it was really bad. I would drink 4 or 5 of the 20 oz bottles while I was at work and then drink more in can format when I got home from work. When I got married, I started drinking 2 liters and could easily guzzle one of those in 1/2 a day or so. Visiting my Gram in NY, I would run out to the grocery store and buy a 6 pack of bottles just so I could have some.
I've overdosed on caffeine twice in my adult life (I didn't even know that was possible). The doctors have been trying to get me to stop drinking caffeine for almost 10 years.
"It's not good for the Crohn's Disease"
Well folks, as petty as this may seem to some... it has plagued me for many a year. When I came home from CCA in Georgia this past weekend, I returned with a 6 pack of 8 oz cans. There was no 2 liter at my house and it has been all I can do to NOT go buy one.
I am proud to announce that I have 2 of the 8 oz cans left and the only 20 oz bottle I bought was on Monday and I didn't drink 1/2 of it. Personally, I think they changed the recipe on me because all of a sudden it doesn't taste the same to me.
Maybe it's God's intervention (thanks!), maybe it's the fact I'm about to turn 30 and I believe if I don't change now, it won't happen. Whatever the case, I am so proud!! I seem to have broken the habbit! Now, if I can keep it up for more than a week... that will be the ultimate test!

Friggin' Insomnia

Man, it annoys me when I can't sleep. Here it is 2am and I'm wide awake - despite the yawning and physically being tired. I tried to sleep, but I just couldn't.

So... I'm gonna scrap some. I'm almost all packed for my crop next week (can I just express how badly I need some time away). I realized tonight (as I was cleaning out my pp) that I have TOOOOOOOO many supplies.

Anyway... I'm sure I'll be back later to show what I've done with the night!
